Notice to Guests Regarding the Mandatory Collection of Personal Data!
DEAR GUEST!
We hereby inform you that, pursuant to applicable laws*, as of September 1, 2021, the accommodation provider is required to record the legally defined personal data of every guest using accommodation services in Hungary via a document scanner into the accommodation management software, and then forward them to a storage facility, the Closed Guest Information Database (VIZA).
* APPLICABLE LAWS:
● Act CLVI of 2016 on the State’s Responsibilities for the Development of Tourism Regions;
● Government Decree No. 235/2019 (X. 15.) on the implementation of the Act on State Tasks for the Development of Tourism Regions;
● Government Decree No. 414/2015 (XII. 23.) on the issuance of identity cards and the rules for the recording of uniform photographs and signatures.
** Third-country national: persons as defined in Act II of 2007 on the entry and residence of third-country nationals
Data to be recorded:
To record the necessary information, guests using the accommodation service must present a valid identification card, driver’s license, or travel document to the accommodation provider. If such a document is not presented, the accommodation provider may refuse to provide the accommodation service. Pursuant to applicable law, the accommodation provider is authorized to request the guest’s identification document, and the guest is required to present it.
